WAITLIST

Add yourself to the waitlist if you are hoping for a sooner appointment, as there is often movement in the schedule. I am gradually reducing my evening hours, if you are an existing/past client needing a later appointment time please reach out directly by email to info@havenphysio.ca and I will do my best to accommodate.

NEW CLIENTS

Please note there is the option start with an ONLINE Initial Visit, which may allow for earlier availability. When booking your initial visit, also pre-book 2 subsequent visits (1-2 weeks apart) to ensure you are able to get appointments at your desired times. A valid credit card on file is required to book through the online system but it will not be charged until the time of your appointment, or in accordance with the cancellation policy below.

CANCELLATION POLICY

No shows will be charged 100% of the appointment fee and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 50% of the appointment fee to the credit card on file. Please note that cancellation fees are NOT covered by extended health benefits coverage.

INSURANCE

I am currently able to direct bill Pacific Blue Cross and insurers linked to Telus e-Claims only. For all other insurers (e.g. Sun Life, GreenShield) you will be provided with a detailed receipt to submit on your own. I am not able to direct bill MSP, ICBC, or WorkSafeBC at this time.

Amy (she/her) graduated from the Master of Physical Therapy program at UBC in 2012 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at Simon Fraser University. Dance has been a big part of her life from a young age and sparked a lifelong interest in movement and the human body, ultimately leading her on the path to becoming a physiotherapist.

She discovered pelvic floor physiotherapy after developing pubic symphysis pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and stress incontinence with her two pregnancies and deliveries. This firsthand experience motivated her to make a significant career shift and pursue her passion for pelvic health, which is now her main area of practice. She also has a special interest in treating overactive bladder and bladder pain, as well as sexual pain conditions such as vulvodynia and vaginismus.

Previously, she worked for many years with clients with neurological conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, and Parkinson’s disease, helping to improve their function and quality of life. This experience has greatly informed her whole person approach to treating pelvic health symptoms and understanding of the influence of the nervous system on all other body systems.

Amy is a lifelong learner and recently completed a two year mentorship at Diane Lee & Associates Physiotherapy in the Integrated Systems Model (ISM). When she’s not busy running after her two boys, you’ll find her at the karate dojo, out exploring the local trails or at the gym working on her deadlifts.
